Healthy Parenting Expo 2025
The Hand Over Heart – Promise to Parent.
This two-day conference will center on:
- Strengthening Families: Creating a Foundation for a Healthy Future Together
- Equipping Parents: Strategies for Building Resilient and Thriving Families
The Ministry of Health and Wellness has identified perinatal mental health as a priority area of unmet need. Perinatal mental health, the mental and emotional well-being of parents during pregnancy and the first year of the baby’s life, significantly impacts not only the individual but also the development and long-term health of children.
“The Hand Over Heart – Promise to Parent” welcomes prospective and current parents, along with community members, to engaging workshops on parenting, co-parenting, financial planning, and health. Sessions cover childhood development, redefining fatherhood, contraception, and nutrition’s role in preventing NCDs. Parents will gain confidence in labor preparation, explore early childhood insights from The Green Book, and learn how to make healthier food choices. Legal guidance ensures family stability, while resilience and positive discipline foster empathy and strong relationships. The importance of early screening for vision and hearing help detect concerns early. Attendees can also observe and sign up for CPR for infants and children with the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
